Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan Sentenced to Three Years in Jail for Toshakhana Case Involving the Sale of State Gifts

Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan sentenced to 3 years in prison today by a district court in Lahore for misusing his authority to buy and sell state gifts.

He was accused of selling gifts that he received during his foreign visits, which include luxury cars and watches.

It is known as the Toshakhana case, involving the sale of state gifts that are supposed to be kept in the Toshakhana repository at the Prime Minister’s House.

The Lahore district court also disqualified him from politics for five (5) years. He filed appeals against the verdict in the high court and the Supreme Court.

His party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, claims he was victimized by political rivals and the military establishment.
