Asus is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated gaming phone series, the ROG Phone 8, on January 16, 2024, in China.
The official Weibo account of Asus ROG has confirmed the launch date and teased some of the features of the upcoming devices.
The ROG Phone 8 series will consist of three models: ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate.
Performance
Go with the trend, we expect that the ROG Phone 8 is set to launch with the latest and advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset coupled with up to 24GB of RAM.
Asus has also revealed the design of the ROG Phone 8 series in a teaser video and an official image. The devices will sport a punch-hole cutout display, which is a first for the ROG Phone series.
Display
The ROG Phone 8 display is expected to have slimmer bezels and a high refresh rate (about 144Hz) for smooth gaming.
Camera
The back of the phone will feature a distinctive pentagon-shaped camera cutout, housing three camera sensors.
The camera specifications are not yet known, but Asus claims that they will offer a “blind camera test” soon.
The back will also have the ROG logo and a red accent, adding to the gaming aesthetics of the phone.
