Volkswagen has revealed its new flagship electric car, the ID.7, which is set to launch in 2024. The ID.7 is the largest and most powerful model in the VW ID lineup of electric vehicles, and it boasts a range of up to 435 miles (700 km) on a single charge.
The ID.7 electric car features a sleek and aerodynamic design, a spacious and comfortable cabin, and advanced technology. The car has a fastback-style rear end, LED headlights and taillights, and a large panoramic roof.
The interior offers ample space for five (5) passengers, and it is equipped with a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and ambient lighting. The car also supports over-the-air updates and has various driver assistance systems.
Volkswagen ID.7 will be available in two versions: the Pro and the Pro S, which have different battery sizes and charging speeds. The Pro version has a 77 kWh battery that can be charged at up to 125 kW, while the Pro S version has an 82 kWh battery that can be charged at up to 200 kW. Both versions have a dual-motor setup that delivers a combined output of 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 460 pound-feet (624 Nm) of torque. The ID.7 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h).
The ID.7 is expected to compete with other premium electric sedans such as the Tesla Model S, the Lucid Air, and the Mercedes-Benz EQS. The car will be produced at Volkswagen’s Zwickau plant in Germany, where the production has already started on Monday, August 21, 2023. The car will be sold in North America, Europe, and China, but the pricing and availability details have not been announced yet.
