SJVN bags 100 MW Grid Connected Solar PV Power Project from PSPCL

SJVN Limited: The Grid-connected Solar PV Power Project from Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) is being offered through e Reverse Auction (e-RA) to SJVN Limited at a tariff of Rs. 2.69 per unit through a Tariff-based Competitive Bidding Process on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.

The estimated cost of construction for this project is Rs. 545 crores.

The project is expected to generate 245.28 MWh in the first year and about 5643.52 MWh over a 25-year period. Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd, PSPCL and SJVN will enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna, Category-I, and Schedule-‘A’ CPSE under the administrative control of the Government of India’s Ministry of Power, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture between the Government of India (GOI) and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP). SJVN is now a listed company with a shareholding pattern of 59.92% with the Government of India, 26.85% with the Government of Himachal Pradesh, and the remaining 13.23% with the public.

SJVN now has a paid-up capital of Rs. 3,929.79 Crore and authorised capital of Rs. 7,000 Crore. As of 31st March 2021, the net worth is Rs.12761.84 crore.

Since its beginning, the company has completed seven projects totalling 16.5 MW of installed capacity and 86 km of 400 kV Transmission Line. SJVN is currently operating power plants in India’s Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat states, as well as Nepal and Bhutan.
