Samsung has launched the new Galaxy Watch6 series in India: Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic, following their recent introduction at an event in South Korea. The series comes with impressive features:
Larger and More Vibrant Display
The Galaxy Watch6 series boasts a 20% larger Super AMOLED display compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch5 series. The new display offers higher resolution and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Additionally, it supports Always On functionality and is protected with Sapphire Crystal glass for added durability.
Rotating Bezel
A notable feature of the Galaxy Watch6 Classic is the return of the physical rotating bezel, which was absent in the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. This 15% thinner rotating bezel allows users to navigate the watch interface with ease.
Improved Health Tracking
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Watch6 series with comprehensive health tracking capabilities. Users can benefit from features such as sleep tracking, exercise coaching, nutritional insights, body composition measurement, irregular heart rhythm notification, fall detection, and more. The watches incorporate Samsung’s 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor, combining optical heart rate, electrical heart, and bioelectrical impedance analysis sensors for accurate health monitoring.
Powerful Performance
The Galaxy Watch6 series is powered by the Exynos W930 dual-core chipset and boasts 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The watches are equipped with larger batteries than the Galaxy Watch5 series, offering up to 40 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Wear OS
The Galaxy Watch6 series runs on Wear OS Powered by Samsung (WearOS 4) and features Samsung’s One UI 5 Watch. They also support various popular apps, including WhatsApp, Audible, Google Calendar, Gmail, Peloton, MyFitness Pal, and more.
In a first for India, the Galaxy Watch6 series introduces the ‘Tap & Pay’ feature, enabling consumers to make payments directly from their watch.
Price and Availability
The Galaxy Watch6 comes in two sizes: 44mm and 40mm, available in Graphite and Silver or Graphite and Gold color options. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic offers two dial sizes as well: 43mm and 47mm, in Black and Silver color variants.
