India Kyrgyzstan Joint Exercise Updates: The 9th Edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise began on 25 March 2022 at the Special Forces Training School, Bakloh (HP), and concluded on 06 April 2022.

Over the last two weeks, Special Forces contingents from India and Kyrgyzstan have shared their knowledge and best practices in countering emerging and present threats throughout the spectrum of warfare. Throughout the Exercise, combat shooting, sniping, mountain survival, hostage rescue drills, and unarmed warfare were widely performed.

Apart from facilitating the exchange of unique skills and techniques between the participating Special Forces contingents, the joint training strengthened the already strong bond between India and Kyrgyzstan, which has been forged over years of mutual respect for strategic autonomy, and democratic values, and zero tolerance for terrorism.

Trade between India and Kyrgyzstan

In 2014–15, commerce between India and Kyrgyzstan was US$38.53 million. Kyrgyzstan imported US$37.76 million in goods from India, while India imported US$0.77 million in goods from Kyrgyzstan. India’s export to Kyrgyzstan includes a variety of products including apparel and clothes, leather goods, medications and pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and tea, among other things. Kyrgyz exports to India include rawhides and scrap metal.

The fifth and sixth sessions of the India-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council, which is comprised of representatives from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were held in Bishkek on March 19, 2014, and New Delhi on December 2-3, 2014, respectively, in Bishkek and New Delhi, respectively.

A pharmaceutical delegation from India, led by Pharmexcil, comprised of 50 firms, paid a visit to Bishkek on March 12–13, 2015, with the goal of promoting the export of pharmaceutical products. six Kyrgyz Agrarian Platform members attended the 30th Aahar International Fair 2015, an annual agricultural event held by the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) from March 10 to 14, 2015.

The ‘Days of India’ festival was held in Bishkek Park, the country’s largest shopping mall, from June 19 to June 21, 2015. Companies from India that manufacture textiles, handicrafts, and footwear took part in the exhibition. On July 15, 2015, a Round Table on agricultural cooperation was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Approximately 110 Kyrgyz representatives from agricultural associations, media outlets, and private farmers took part in the Round Table Discussions.
