Huawei has officially unveiled the nova 12 series in China, featuring four smartphones: nova 12, nova 12 Lite, nova 12 Pro, and nova 12 Ultra. These nova 12 series comes with really stunning colours, specially Blue and Pink, which adds premium look and blending style.
In the nova 12 series, the top variant is nova 12 Ultra, which boast a stunning 6.76″ LTPO OLED display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,776×1,224 pixels. The device also supports 1billion color and P3 wide color gamut, all protected by Kunlun Glass (Tamper Glass).
One of the most impressive features of this series is the 60MP ultrawide front cameras on both the Pro and Ultra variants. They also have an 8MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom, which means they offer dual front cameras – 60MP and 8MP.
The rear panel, covered in faux leather with a 3D embossing of Huawei and Nova branding, houses a remarkable elliptical camera island. This island hosts a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera, both equipped with a physically variable aperture for unparalleled image quality.
Running on HarmonyOS 4, the nova 12 Ultra offers up to 1TB of storage, while its processor not explicitly mentioned on the official website, but it is expected to be Kirin 9000S. The device introduces satellite calling and messaging capabilities through a two-way Beidou satellite messaging system.
The device is powered by a robust 4600 mAh battery with 100W USB-C charging and claims to charge from 3 to 52% in just 10 mins.
The nova 12 Pro shares many features with its Ultra counterpart, including the variable aperture cameras and satellite connectivity. The only minor differences in specs come in color options and a slightly heavier build (198g vs. 201g), and storage options.
The pro variant comes in 256GB and 512GB storage options. Unlike the Ultra, it doesn’t come in the faux leather back but maintains a sleek design.
