Honda has finally revealed its first all-electric Acura model, the ZDX SUV, which is based on the Precision EV concept that was showcased last year. The ZDX is a luxury crossover that will compete with Tesla Model X, Audi e-tron, and Mercedes-Benz EQC in the fast-growing electric SUV segment.
The ZDX will have two variants: the A-Spec and the Type S, both using a 102 kWh battery from General Motors’ Ultium platform. The Type S will be the most powerful Acura SUV ever, with an estimated 500 horsepower and a range of 288 miles.
The A-Spec will have a single or dual motor option, with a range of up to 325 miles. Both variants will support fast charging up to 150 kW, which can add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Acura ZDX will also feature Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play into the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The ZDX will also have a Bang & Olufsen audio system with 16 speakers and a subwoofer, and a panoramic sunroof.
The ZDX will also come with AcuraWatch 360+, which is a suite of advanced driver assistance systems that includes Hands Free Cruise, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.

Price and availiabity
The ZDX is expected to price in between $60,000 to $70,000 range and will be available for pre-sale later this year, with first deliveries in early 2024. Honda hopes that the ZDX will attract new customers to the Acura brand and boost its sales in the US market, where it has been lagging behind its rivals.
The ZDX is part of Honda’s plan to electrify its entire lineup by 2030, with at least 40% of its global sales coming from battery-electric or fuel-cell vehicles by 2030. Honda has also partnered with General Motors to develop two new electric vehicles for the US market, one of which will be an Acura model. Honda has also invested in battery recycling and reuse initiatives to reduce its environmental impact.
