The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched the DMRC Travel app, revolutionizing ticket booking for Delhi Metro passengers. Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, introduced the app, which allows commuters to generate mobile QR tickets for seamless travel across the metro network.
The app offers numerous features to enhance the travelling experience. A travel planner assists users in selecting the most efficient route, providing fare, platform, travel time, and interchange station information. The fare calculator helps determine the cost of the journey, while station information offers details on train timings, gate information, nearby attractions, and parking availability. The app also acts as a tour guide, suggesting attractions near metro stations, and includes a lost and found service.
Users can choose from various payment methods, including UPI, credit/debit cards, and digital wallets. The app enables viewing of transaction history and easy rebooking of tickets. Currently available on the Google Play Store, the app will soon be accessible on iOS devices as well.
How to Book tickets on DMRC Travel App
Booking metro tickets via the app is a very simple process:
1. Download the DMRC Travel application from Google Play store.
2. Log in or create an account.
3. Select “Book Ticket” and enter the source and destination stations.
4. Choose the number of tickets and make the payment.
5. A mobile QR ticket will be generated.
6. Scan the QR code at AFC gates for entry and exit.
