♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ‘Namami Narmada’ festival on Sardar Sarovar Damat Kevadiya Gujarat. It is been celebrated by the Gujarat govt to mark the filling up of the dam to its full reservoir level of 138.68 mts

The Sardar Sarovar Dam which is a gravity dam with height of 138.68 mts on the Narmada river  near  Navagam,  Gujarat state. Four states, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, and Rajasthan receives water and uses electricity produced through this dam

♦ Antique Bronze Idol of Buddha which was stolen on 22nd August 1961 from the Nalanda Museum of ASI is handed over to Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Culture & Tourism by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Antique Bronze Idol of Buddha documented as “Seated Buddha in Bhumisparsha Mudra” Ht. 6.5″ Circa 12th Century AD. Scotland Yard handed over the statue to the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, YK Sinha on 15th August 2018 to mark India’s Independence Day

♦ ISRO and DRDO had MoU to provide technologies for human-centric systems for Human Space Mission. MoU for development of human-centric systems for the Human Space Mission to demonstrate its human space flight capabilities

♦ First indigenous developed air-to-air missile ASTRA, has been successfully flighted tested on 16 September 2019 off the coast of Odisha. As a part of User trials, the missile was launched from Su-30 MKI

♦ IIT Delhi to conduct JEE (Advanced) 2020 examination on May 1, 2020, for admission in 23 IIT’s in India, for the first time exam center is also available in San Francisco, US

♦ Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways flagged off new passengers train between Dumka and Poreyahat in Jharkhand today via Video Conference. Train No. 53561/ 53562  which will have connectivity New Madanpur, Barapalasi, Nonihat, Kurmahat, Hansdiha and Gangwara
