List of Bharat Ratna 2019
The Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India which was instituted in the year 1954. Bharat Ratna is awarded for recognition of exceptional service or performance in any field of human endeavour. Without distinction of race, occupation, position, or gender of any are eligible for this award. On conferment of the award, Bharat Ratna recipient receives a certificate (Sanad) signed by the President and a medallion.
