Nothing plans to launch an affordable smartphone, tentatively named Phone (2a), at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by the end of February.
The Phone (2a) is assigned the model number A142, and it introduces a brand new design language, potentially hinting at a refreshed aesthetic for Nothing’s mid-range offerings.
A leaked video on X reveals a sketch of the Phone (2a), showcasing a unique camera arrangement different from previous Nothing devices.
Nothing has opted for the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 SoC for the Phone (2a), signaling a shift in the company’s approach to mid-range smartphone specifications.
The chipset offers a decent performance, supporting 5G connectivity, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 12GB of RAM.
While smaller than its premium counterpart, the Phone (2a) features three Glyph LED light strips on the rear, adding a touch of uniqueness and style.
The Glyph interface can display various patterns and colors, depending on the user’s preferences and notifications.
The Phone (2a) is expected to have a 6.7-inch display, with a punch-hole cutout for the front camera.
The display resolution and type are still unknown, but it could be an LCD or an AMOLED panel, mostly seen in mid-range smartphone.
The rear camera setup is also a mystery, but it could feature a dual or a triple camera system, with a main sensor of 50MP or higher.
