Earth Day 2021 Restore Our Earth: Earth Day is a yearly event held on April 22 to show support for environmental sustainability. It started on April 22, 1970, and has since expanded to include a wide range of events organised annually by EARTHDAY.ORG (formerly known as Earth Day Network), involving 1 billion people in 193 countries.

At a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco in 1969, peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honour the Earth and the idea of peace, to be observed for the first time on March 21, 1970, the 1st day of spring in the northern hemisphere.

On April 22, 1970, US Senator Gaylord Nelson proposed holding a nationwide environmental teach-in. Young activist Denis Hayes appointed as the National Coordinator. The day was renamed “Earth Day” by Nelson and Hayes. America was commemorated with the first Earth Day. Denis Hayes, the national coordinator of 1970, organised world events in 141 countries in 1990.

The landmark Paris Convention was ratified on Earth Day 2016 by the United States, China and more than 120 other nations. The ratification has fulfilled an essential precondition for an agreement drafted by 195 countries at the UN Climate Change Conference 2015 in Paris on the climate protection treaty.

EARTHDAY.ORG to organise the second-annual Earth Day Live Livestream event, which is to take place on April 22, 2021, which will feature global campaigners, world politicians, and influencers. On Earth Day 2021, the US President Biden Administration to host a Climate Leaders Summit.
